Sinner or winner - ASBO?

So he's called Phil (not Terry as some sources said), and I've featured him before here.
He's a London legend, with his witty "sinner or winner" preaching.
But Westminster Council's not so sure and have applied for an ASBO (anti social behaviour order) to stop him!
BBC story here.
I'm guessing the problem is his amplification - megaphone or recently an amp and mic.
Whatever you think about him and his style (Andrew has blogged about him before - in fact I think I stole this pic. from him!), this surely has implications for freedom of speach and public preaching, which are very concerning.

Update:
So he got the ASBO and can't use amplification to preach. More here

Technology
Seems every is being affected by the march of technology!

Today I noticed the "sinner or winner man" (see pic) had replaced his trust megaphone with a new mic and speaker combo. He was preaching louder than ever, the same old message - why be a sinner when you can be a winner? (except today he added something about smiling if you had Jesus).

Sinner or winner?
Wondering if any London people know anything about the "sinner or winner" street preacher often found around Oxford Street/Oxford Circus or at major events? (complete with megaphone thing).
I saw him today - and on most trips up to the LBA offices.
The funniest was when he saw a guy with a bag from JD Sports and used that to prompt "its on your bag son, Jesus or the Devil - JD"!!
I know Matt has had some encounters.
Just wondering if anyone else had or knew anything about him?

Sinner to Winner 3: Tv stardom!
London's very own "sinner or winner" (see preivious posts: here and here) street preacher was featured on Channel 4's 3 minute wonders on the 10 commandments! I couldn't believe my eyes when he appeared on my screen! Classic!

You can read an interview with him at B3TA and learn more about those crazy catchphrases and why he does what he does. Its a good little piece.
One thing that has disturbed me is the discovery from the Londonist that his name might be Phil and not Terry as others have suggested. Its a mystery!
Any more encounters - let me know!

He's Back!
The ASBO may have silenced the megaphone, but today outside Oxford Circus London's notorious street preacher was back! Not shouting or making much noise, but armed with a pile of tracts, the "sinner or winner" man Phil Howard was back in town. Wonder where he's been?

Back on the Small Screen
Just spotted Phil "Sinner or Winner" back on the small screen.

He was interviewed on what's turning out to be quite an interesting BBC2 show "Am I normal?" looking at faith and psychological issues.

Great City
The last verse of the book of Jonah is always something I feel God says about London (especially the last sentence - not so many cattle here!).
Yesterday I was up the West End (I met Rob in person for the first time), and was once again struck by how fantastic London is.
I even did a tourist thing and took a camera phone shot of the Christmas lights from Oxford Circus (no sign of "sinner or winner" man though!

Amused to see Andrew Jones' comment on the London bombings features pictures and reference to everyone's favourite street preacher - the "sinner or winner" guy!
I've blogged about him several times before - e.g here.
A London legend.
And The Skinny manages to draw some good insights into yesterday's events.

Simon Jones comment "rumours of God" is also helpful.
